Managing Multiethnic Communities: 'Best practice' case studies

CEMES is very pleased to be involved in a major project on 'best-practice' policies at the local level.  In the spring of 2000, Managing Multiethnic Communities Project (MMCP) http://lgi.osi.hu/ethnic of the Local Government and Public Service Reform Initiative (LGI) and the Center for European Migration and Ethnic Studies (CEMES) have entered into a partnership to update and maintain the 'Managing Multiethnic Communities' database on innovative policies in Russia, the Newly Independent States, and Central and Eastern Europe.  The entries in the database, which is available in Russian and English, provide transferable information on innovative policies and projects in a range of areas including political participation of minorities, employment and training policies, multicultural education and specialist services in housing and social welfare. 

The entries are drafted by specialists in the field and  edited and translated by CEMES staff.  A fee is paid for all accepted entries and prospective authors should contact the following in the first instance:
