Gilles de Rapper is an anthropologist who has been carrying out research and fieldwork in Albania, Macedonia and Greece over the past four years. His work has focused on the transformations of Albanian society and of the collective identities – national, regional and religious – of the Albanians of Albania and Macedonia. His doctoral thesis (Paris X-Nanterre, 1998) was on La Frontière albanaise. Famille, société et identité collective en Albanie du sud.
